Which Spain visa fits you?

Six questions, no email, an honest answer — wherever you are applying from.

The eligibility check

What income does each visa ask for?

Both floors are 2026 figures, and both grow with the number of family members on the same application. The check does this arithmetic for your household; the tables do it for every household.

The Non-Lucrative Visa

Non-Lucrative Visa income requirement by household size, 2026
HouseholdMonthly incomePer year
Just you€2,400€28,800
You + 1 family member€3,000€36,000
You + 2 family members€3,600€43,200
You + 3 family members€4,200€50,400
Non-Lucrative Visa income floor for 2026. 400% of IPREM for you, and 100% of IPREM again for every family member on the application. Ministry of Inclusion, Non-Lucrative residence sheet.

The Digital Nomad Visa

Digital Nomad Visa income requirement by household size, 2026
HouseholdMonthly incomePer year
Just you€2,849€34,188
You + 1 family member€3,917.38€47,008.56
You + 2 family members€4,273.51€51,282.12
You + 3 family members€4,629.64€55,555.68
Digital Nomad Visa income floor for 2026. 200% of the minimum wage for you, 75% of it for the first family member, 25% for each one after. Large Companies Unit (UGE) checklist.

Which floor applies to you is decided by the kind of income you hold, not by the amount. The two visas side by side sets out the rest of the difference.

What can this check tell you?

One of six answers, and every one of them ends somewhere you can act on. Here they are in advance, with the rule behind each.

You don't need a visa
An EU, EEA or Swiss passport already carries the right to live in Spain, so neither visa on this site applies. What is left is registration: the residency certificate, an NIE and the town-hall padrón.
The Digital Nomad Visa fits
Your income is earned by working, the people paying you are outside Spain, and your household clears the Digital Nomad floor in the table above. That is the whole rule: money you work for points at this visa, because it is the only one of the two that lets you keep working.
The Non-Lucrative Visa fits
Your income arrives whether you work or not, and it clears the Non-Lucrative floor above. The visa forbids work of any kind while you hold it, remote work for a foreign employer included, so it only fits money that does not depend on you working.
The Digital Nomad floor is above you, for now
The work fits but the household income does not reach the floor in the table. The check says so plainly rather than encouraging a file that would be refused. The floor is read on gross income and it moves with household size, so a documented raise or one more client can change the answer.
The Non-Lucrative floor is above you, for now
Your income is the right kind but the monthly figure falls short. Savings are the usual way past this: the rule reads on total funds covering the whole period applied for, which the Non-Lucrative page sets out in full.
Your route is a different permit
A job with a Spanish employer runs on a work permit the employer starts, and studying runs on a student visa the school's acceptance letter starts. Neither is one we prepare, and the check says so instead of selling you the nearest thing.

Nothing here is a decision about a person we have not met. If your situation has an edge to it (an early pension beside two consulting clients, a partner on a different passport), write to [email protected] and a person will read it.
